Robitussin A-Câ"which contains guaifenesin (an expectorant) and codeine (a narcotic cough suppressant)â"can be detected for a shorter time with some tests, but can be visible for up to three months in other tests. The timetable for detecting Robitussin A-C in the system is also dependent upon each individuals metabolism, body mass, age, hydration level, physical activity, health conditions, and other factors, making it almost impossible to determine an exact time Robitussin A-C will show up on a drug test. The following is an estimated range of times, or detection windows, during which the codeine product in Robitussin A-C can be detected by various testing methods: Urine. Robitussin A-C can be detected in a urine test for up to 2-4 days.Blood. Blood tests for Robitussin A-C can detect the drug for up to 12 hours.Saliva. A saliva test can detect Robitussin A-C for 2-4 days.Hair. Robitussin A-C, like many other drugs, can be detected with a hair follicle drug test for up to 90 days. Avoiding an Overdose You need to know how long Robitussin A-C stays in the system to avoid taking too much too quickly and having an accidental overdose. Here are some of the signs and symptoms of a codeine overdose: Bluish skin (fingernails and lips)Breathing slow and laboredCold, clammy skinComaConfusionConstipationDizzinessDrowsinessFatigueLightheadednessLoss of consciousnessLow blood pressureMuscle twitchesTiny pupilsSpasms of the stomach and intestinesWeaknessWeak pulse If you or someone in your care has overdosed on Robitussin A-C call 911 (or your local emergency number) for immediate medical help. Another option is the calling the national Poison Control help line at 800-222-1222. The hotline is a free and confidential service that can be reached any time of day. It does not have to be an emergency for you to call. The help line will connect you with an expert in poisoning who can advise you of what steps to take next (as well as what you should not do if someone has overdosed on a medication). Robitussin A-C and Alcohol Reaction Because Robitussin A-C contains codeine, consuming alcohol while using the cough syrup can increase the risk of overdose and cause other negative reactions, including drowsiness and dizziness. Taking Robitussin A-C can make you feel sleepy, drowsy, or lightheaded. Alcohol can intensify these effects. Mixing alcohol with Robitussin A-C may cause you to have problems concentrating or performing some mechanical tasks; make it more dangerous to drive; and increase the risk of falls and serious injuries. Drinking alcohol while using Robitussin A-C is especially dangerous for women and older people. When women drink, the alcohol in their bloodstream usually reaches higher levels than in a mans bloodstream. Aging slows down the bodys ability to metabolize alcohol, leaving higher concentrations in the system of older drinkers longer. Medications You Should Never Mix With Alcohol

How Spiritualism Is A Form Of Worship - 1352 Words
Spiritualism is a form of worship that believes in both a world of matter and material things, such as people, animals, etc., and a world of spirits or metaphysical beings and happenings. The religion of Hawaii was partially spiritualism and also polytheistic. Polytheism is the belief in many gods. (Imagine) Their gods ruled over the natural occurrences of the world such as the seas, volcanoes, earth, and sky. (Got Religion) One major volcano that was particularly precious to them was Mauna Kea. Mauna Kea was believed to be the place where the sky god met the god of earth; also it was where the other deities met. Basically, Mauna Kea was the Hawaiian Mount Olympus. Now, in their eyes, they were being persecuted for their faith and culture. One group of Sioux stood up against the tide of imperialism. The Speech Of Polly Baker - 875 Words
The speech of Polly Baker Benjamin wrote the speech in the perspective of a mother of five who was facing a jury. She had been accused of fornication and consequently the birth of five children. The children, the youngest being very young were all the proof the jury needed to convict her. But she makes her case and terms the whipping and the fines she had already paid for her other four children as being unjust (Maestro). They were costly and in a big way reduced her ability to cater to the needs of her children. Women were not treated as an equal member of the society at the time the speech was developed. The speech challenges all knowledge about the judicial process and this focus makes it more effective rather than making a case for women which would have been ignored at the time. The setting, plot and characterization are three of the main concepts in the message ââ¬Å"The speech of Polly Bakerâ⬠, the culture that produced the speech applied double standards based on sex and gender. Polly is being held to one thing, and the men who have fathered her children are not punished. She tells the bench that the men ought to provide as well, but the ladies will not force themselves on these men (Lemay). If men refuse to take responsibility the society should remember that the women are doing what God wanted them to do; recreate and fill the world. Otherwise, he wouldnââ¬â¢t have allowed the children to be formed in their wombs. Women shouldnââ¬â¢t be punished for it, but praised. Isearch Free Essays
Body To figure out the answer to my question I had to find people who have graduated room MOOSE. I went home and asked my mom and she said I have a cousin who attended MOOSE. Dave attended MOOSE thirty years ago. We will write a custom essay sample on Isearch or any similar topic only for you Order Now Dave also played for the baseball team and has a great Job of being a Senior Vice President at EMCEES Inc. In Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I figured Dave would be great to ask because of his liking for sports, and he and I are pretty similar in things we enjoy doing, so he would give good information coming from a perspective very similar to mine. The other person I e-mailed was Grant Ileum. I knew Brock Ileumââ¬â¢s uncle was an engineer, but I didnââ¬â¢t realize was that Grant owns his own business. Ileum Engineering makes ramps, risers, rail boards and engineered dock products. I also went online to an online discussion site and found some very interesting reviews from Jeff and Christopher on Capped. When I am wondering what I want in a college I think of price, campus quality, activities, and Job readiness. I asked questions and looked for answers based off of these four characteristics. I found that the answers vary substantially from person to person. Some support the school while others bash on MOOSE. I know he price at MOOSE is astonishing and very high. I have heard of great scholarships given out by MOOSE, but I donââ¬â¢t know if everyone receives them. Based on the information I received most students get scholarships, but both Christopher and Dave said even with scholarships MOOSE did put a burden on their wallet. Everyone agreed that with the high price come the great professors, top notch learning materials, and also a laptop you get to keep after college. Dave said ââ¬Å"There are a lot of businesses that invest heavily in MOOSE, so the school stays on the cutting edge with genealogy. â⬠With businesses investing it helps cut down on the price while you still get the latest and greatest technology. Milwaukee can be dangerous, run-down, and deprived. I need to know if the MOOSE campus is safe and clean enough for me. It is very assuring to hear that the campus is on a twenty four hour security schedule every day of the year. All of my sources say MOOSE is always trying to make the campus bigger and cleaner. Dave mentioned that the Kern Center are very neat and enjoyable to be in. Through my research I donââ¬â¢t deed to have a car because of the small campus, and to get to the grocery store MOOSE provides buses to take students. The buses make going places a lot safer and makes the streets less clogged with the thick Milwaukee traffic. Being right in Milwaukee there has to be tons of activities to do. I knew MOOSE has many collegiate sports teams. The city of Milwaukee also hosts the Brewers and Bucks, but being a college student I probably wonââ¬â¢t be able to afford all that. Everyone I talked to was in at least one club and MOOSE encourages people to create new clubs as well. Dave was n intramural sports and it was where he met some of his closest friends. Jeff said ââ¬Å"The lakefront is simply breathtaking and the museum is quite a sight to see. â⬠Also there is fraternity parties that I may have to attend quite often. Once I graduate I need to be ready for my Job. I donââ¬â¢t think I need to know about art history or music history to help me out with engineering. According to my sources MOOSE puts you into your major right away, which helps you get done in four years. MOOSE has a Job placement rate of ninety four percent, which is great, but do they prepare you engineer a product for them and, if you donââ¬â¢t engineer something worthwhile you canââ¬â¢t graduate. Also Dave said MOOSE doesnââ¬â¢t teach theory they do practical applications which he feels fully prepared him for his great Job. Conclusion Now that I have researched about MOOSE many thoughts have gone through my head. To find the final answer first I have to answer the four characteristics I was researching. The price of MOOSE is very high, but most people get a scholarship. I think MOOSE might be too expensive for me. The campus quality is amazing and I hint I get really enjoy living on the MOOSE campus. To have fun at college I want to participate in many activities. I think MOOSE has plenty of fun activities to do plus everything else in the Milwaukee area. When I graduate I want to be as prepared as possible and I believe MOOSE does a wonderful Job of that. Three of four categories is looking good, but I feel I want one that is four out of four. To answer my question, MOOSE is partially right for me. I will base more colleges of my criteria until I find one that is perfect, but if I donââ¬â¢t MOOSE will always be high on my college list. How to cite Isearch, Papers

RACE AND THE DEATH PENALTY Essays - Capital Punishment In Georgia
RACE AND THE DEATH PENALTY In 1977 the unjust law of capital punishment was once again enforced in the American justice system. The use of Capital punishment has instigated many discussions among American criminologists. The use of the death penalty as a form of justice has been banned from many countries and states but there are still a few American states that believe in this form of punishment. Some of them include Texas, Georgia and Virginia. There have been many academic articles that have discussed the general pros and cons of the death penalty, but there is one specific issue that stands out from the others. This issue includes racism and how it's implicated in the capital punishment system. I will be summarizing and analyzing the key point as well as the rhetorical features of three articles written by researchers in the justice system. There have been numerous debates about the involvement of racism in the death penalty system. Michael Kroll has been a part of these debates by revealing flaws and negative facts initiated by racism in the death penalty system. He wrote the article called "Buckle Of The Death Belt." This article deals with the specific judicial district of Chattahoochee, which is located in the state of Georgia. This state is also know as The Nation's Executioner for its relatively high number of prisoners on death row per year. Another article called "Racial Disparities in Federal Death Penalty Prosecutions 1988-1994," written by the subcommittee on civil and constitutional rights, deals with the underlying principle that racial minorities are being prosecuted under federal death penalty law far beyond their proportion in the general population or the population of criminal offenders. The third article is called "The Death Penalty in Black and White: Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Decides," written by Richard C. Dieter. This report releases two new studies which show that the continuing injustice of racism in the application of the death penalty. All three articles are written for the general public and can be very informative for many reasons. I will focus on the key points of the articles, as well the important style and features of the articles, which makes the article more convincing to the audience. For these articles the main argument that the writer is trying to portray is racism does occur in the justice system and should be recognized and changed. In the first article written by Michael Kroll, he states that the Chattahoochee Judicial District in Georgia is a microcosm of the national disgrace. Nearly 20 years after the supreme court held the death penalty as being unconstitutional, largely because of racial discrimination, the death penalty in America continues to reflect the worst part of the judicial system: racism, unequal treatment of the poor, and abuse of discretion by prosecutors and other politicians seeking higher positions. By the end of 1990, 20 people were imposed by the death penalty (Radelet). Out of those twenty, more than half were black men, who were tried by all-white juries. The District Attorney used his discretion to remove every black potential juror. While black people account for 65 percent of all homicide victims, the DA seeks the death penalty almost exclusively in white victims cases. Families of white murder victims are treated with dignity and respect by the DA's office, while black victims famili es are abused or ignored. The DA has sought the death penalty in nearly 40 percent of the cases where the defendant was black and the victim white, in 32 percent of the cases where both defendant and victim were white, in just 6 percent of the cases where both the defendant and victim were black and never where the defendant was white and the victim black (Radelet). Kroll emphasizes the fact that by executing more than any other state, 80 percent of them black, Georgia has earned the title," The Nation's Executioner." The history of the death penalty in America can be seen in Georgia's cases: Furman vs. Georgia (1972) [1] which resulted in the death penalty due to racial discrimination (Douglas), Gregg vs. Georgia (1976), Coker vs. Georgia (1977) [2] as well as many others were seen to have sentenced the defendant to death despite strong evidence that

Should Canada continue its international role as a peacekee essays
Should Canada continue its international role as a peacekee essays Should Canada continue its international role as a peacekeeper? Between 1991 and the end of 1996, 24 new peacekeeping missions were set up under the UNs flag- six more than the total established during the preceding 43 years. At the peak of UN activity in the mid-1990s, there were nearly 80,000 UN peacekeepers deployed around the globe. [Canada and Peace...] The numbers show that since the end of the Cold World, peacekeeping has become more and more important in the complicated international society. Being the most enthusiastic peacekeeping force, Canadian Military has deployed more than 125,000 Canadian military personnel and thousands of civilians. [Canada: the...] However, people have started arguing whether the Canadian Military should keep its reputation or change its military status in the world. Based on Canadian peacekeeping history, fifty years of peacekeeping experience and participation in an overwhelming majority of peacekeeping missions has established an international reputation for Canada. It builds on its established peacekeeping tradition to make strong and significant contributions to international peace and security. [Canada and Peace...] Therefore, in my point of view, the term a peacekeeper has become one of the most famous national identities of Canada, and to keep playing the role as a peacekeeper is the proudest and most proper way to act on the world stage for Canada. Nevertheless, the Canadian Military still needs to have some improvements or changes in its personnel, equipment, and policy to make itself an absolute peacemaker. Firstly, the Canadian Military should be more strict and specific about how personnel are selected. Now the Canadian Government isnt too selective when choosing army personnel, and some people are not competent enough to be peacekeepers. This has resulted in the past with poorly disciplined personnel and embarrassing situations for the ...

Eco-Friendly Drain Cleaners
Eco-Friendly Drain Cleaners The active ingredient in Drano and other conventional drain cleaners is sodium hydroxide, otherwise known as caustic soda or lye. It is a man-made chemical used for its corrosive properties. According to the federal Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, the substance is not considered a pollutant per se, as it separates into relatively harmless component elements once released into water or moist soil. But sodium hydroxide is an irritant that can burn skin and aggravate nose, throat and respiratory airways, so contact with it is best avoided. If ingested outright it will likely induce vomiting, as well as cause chest or abdominal pain and make swallowing difficult - so keep it well out of the reach of children. For those who would rather avoid such chemicals entirely, safer alternatives do exist. A plunger or mechanical drain snake - along with a little elbow grease - can often free up clogs as well or better than sodium hydroxide compounds. One home remedy with a proven track record is to pour a handful of baking soda mixed with a half cup of vinegar down the drainà and follow it quickly with boiling water. Another option is to choose any number of enzymatic biological drain cleaners on the market today, such as Earth Friendly Productsââ¬â¢ Enzyme Drain Cleaner or Bi-O-Kleenââ¬â¢s BacOut. These make use of a natural bacterial and enzyme mixture to open and keep drains clear. And unlike sodium hydroxide, they are non-caustic and will not facilitate combustion. As any plumber will tell you, a good maintenance regimen is the best way to prevent clogged drains. Flushing drains weekly with boiling water can help keep them clear. Also, installing small screens atop drains will help keep hair, lint and other clogging elements out of the pipeline in the first place.
